12:05pm- 12:35pm - The Artist Voice- Nelson Makamo

It is a truism that rather than showing a viewer his/her subject at surface level, an artist aims to express the meaning behind it. This conversation is thus an enquiry into the succession of thoughts, actions and mechanisms that underlie an artists’ creative process. Artists will be sharing insights into the discovery of ideas and visions that resonate, how they incubate and process them and ultimately, gather information, materials and technologies in order to turn their visions into reality.

12:40pm-1:25pm - Panel - The New Faces of Art Patronage - Kola Aina, Toyin Odulate, Jubril Enakele  moderated by Ugoma Adegoke

With the advent of a fast-growing crop of young collectors, the art world is hinging on the premise of their ambitious market potential. Baby-boomers who are presently the majority collectors are loosening their reins as their younger successors inherit their wealth and engage more frequently than ever with the art market. Predictably, a younger generation wishes to identify with the art of their time, such as art produced digitally, considering the art of older generations, by definition – passé. This prompts the questions, how can we cater to the changing tastes of this maturing demographic of collectors? and how do we expand their views of what can be considered the art of this generation?

BREAK

2:00pm - 2:45pm Panel – Art and Fashion- Bayo Oke Lawal , Lisa Folawiyo , Lanre Da Silva, moderated by - Ayodeji Rotinwa
The centuries-long intersection between the visual arts and fashion continues to evolve and gain cachet by association. Both métiers have come together in various ways throughout history and in recent years have reached a populist audience, through innovative collaborations that incorporate their mutual creative vision. Contemplating their joint histories, what direction would we like to see these disciplines collectively head towards?

2:50pm - 3:20pm - The Artist Voice -Peju Alatise

3:30pm - 4:15pm - In Conversation - Art and Film

Kunle Afolayan, Adeyemi Michael, Tito Ibitola- Aderemi, moderated by Tony Khan

Film like art is heavily definitive of Nigeria’s cultural landscape. While there have been some striking  presentations fusing both artistic mediums in recent times ( for instance Nollywood Portraits by the Nigerian-American artist, Iké Udé), there is still potential to explore both sectors, which many stakeholders perceive as representing  dissimilar artistic ideologies. The panelists will thus discuss how we can develop an associative way of thinking to build synergies that are new and experimental. They will also delve into a discussion about how the vanguard of filmmakers and art producers can harness the full potential of Nigeria’s creative industries.

6:00pm - 10:00pm - PARTY
